EBC uses HPSR steel with a low carbon content, which has an 18% higher coefficient of friction. This steel is significantly more resistant to rust than cast steel. Additionally, the entire surface is protected with a 3-micron thick zinc coating, which wears off in the brake pad contact zone during the bedding-in process.
