The sprocket cover is one of the most underrated components on the whole motorcycle. Installed centrally on the motorcycle. it surrounds the chain sprocket and does more than it might seem at first glance. It protects the engine and many other components from flying grease while driving. This is particularly stubborn as dirt and difficult to remove from the soft surface of the original part. A hard surface. as it occurs with high-quality carbon. is more suitable here.
The component can utilize its full potential not only technically. but also optically. Installed in just a few minutes. the value of the motorcycle is increased enormously. In order to obtain a harmonious overall picture. the fiber layers are inserted and aligned in the mold by experts. The carbon part fits perfectly into the surrounding shapes of the motorcycle. The more of our parts are installed and combined. the more overwhelming the result.
The name Ilmberger stands for highest quality and innovation in carbon fiber manufacturing. Each part is produced in our own facility. where we use specially developed prepreg for Ilmberger as the base material. This is processed in an elaborate procedure in the autoclave. which offers numerous advantages.
Prepreg. a pre-impregnated carbon fabric. is characterized by an even resin distribution with a simultaneously high fiber volume content. This leads to maximum strength and increases the flexibility of the components. Processing in the autoclave. a high-pressure oven that operates under controlled temperature and pressure conditions. ensures perfect. uniform curing and a flawless surface. This method prevents air inclusions in the material and ensures consistently high quality of the parts.
Our carbon parts are laminated by hand with great experience and care. allowing for consistent fiber alignment without distortion. After curing in the autoclave. the edges of the parts are precisely cut by robot to ensure a perfect fit and highest quality.
A globally unique step in Ilmberger's production is the complete plastic powder coating of all carbon parts. This coating not only protects the parts from environmental influences but also gives them an incomparable depth effect. No other carbon manufacturer offers this type of sealing. which prevents the aging of the parts and significantly extends their lifespan. Attention important notes:CPC recommends for tapered threads:Teflon tape or liquid sealant for thread sealing!Tighten the coupling by hand and then tighten it with a wrench for a maximum of 1 – 2 more turns!Never fully screw in the thread!With tapered threads, only the first three threads seal anyway!
During transport, the release pins on couplings with thumb buttons are often touched.As a result, the thumb button is in the upper position, partially covering the opening.Please make sure to bring the thumb button to the lower position before connecting the plug!
