EBC Contour Brake Disc The goal of the development is to improve the braking performance compared to the original brake disc. EBC uses heat-treated carbon steel for the MX Contour brake discs. This steel is significantly more resistant to rust than cast steel. Additionally, the entire surface is protected with a 3-micron thick zinc layer, which wears off in the brake pad contact zone during the bedding-in process. Only in this area can light surface rust form after prolonged periods of inactivity. The brake discs are drilled in a bird wing design to minimize the number of holes while optimizing the cleaning of the brake disc from rainwater and brake dust.
