This concept also provides the case with a significant increase in stiffness. Furthermore, an integrated, extra generously sized sealing tape ensures optimal sealing of the seam. The same applies to the specially shaped profile that forms the upper closure of the case body. It stiffens the case and, with the integrated sealing lip that fits snugly into the profile of the lid, ensures a weatherproof closure. The construction method and material choice combine the experiences from over two decades of adventure and expedition travel on the toughest tracks in the world. The materials withstand hours and days of vibrations on corrugated roads as well as peak loads that occur when quickly traversing deep ground waves. The high elongation and penetration resistance of the material ensure maximum durability when coming into contact with obstacles or, in the worst case, during a fall. Manufactured at the Niedereschach location, the Mundo benefits from the advanced technologies also used in the production of the ZEGA Pro and ZEGA Pro2 variants. Like the other cases in the ZEGA family, the Mundo is also equipped with high-quality, lockable stainless steel fittings. These not only allow for complete removal of the lid but can also serve as hinges, allowing the case lid to open either forward or backward as needed. The case is mounted using the proven system from Touratech on the model-specific, off-road stable carriers made of 18x2 steel tubing. The large, once knurled mounting nuts inside the case are now ergonomically shaped in the ZEGA Mundo to enable even easier handling.
