The Optional Header is aimed at owners of motorcycles that are already equipped with an Akrapovič Slip-On Line (Carbon) exhaust system and wish to achieve an increase in performance and a reduction in weight. The Optional Header is made of high-quality stainless steel and offers a weight saving of 53.5% (1.8 kg) compared to the stock header.
The pipes have been designed with a larger diameter to allow for improved gas flow with less restriction. With the Slip-On Line (Carbon), the power increases by 1.6 kW (2.2 hp) at 9,500 rpm and the torque increases by 3.5 Nm at 6,700 rpm compared to a Honda CB750 Hornet with a stock system, tested on the in-house Akrapovič test bench. The Optional Header produces a deep, racing sound that fully envelops the twin-cylinder engine and can be easily installed via Plug & Play. It is a track-oriented product intended solely for use on closed racetracks.
With the installation, the EC/ECE type approval of the Slip-On Line (Carbon) is void.
