This part is a direct replacement for the original component and contributes mainly to weight saving on the motorcycle (up to 70% less) and a higher stiffness of the parts. For this. thermic stressed. carbonpart. we use special high-temperature prepreg material (see FAQ) to avoid burning and staining of the part. Like all of our carbon fibre parts. it was made according to the latest protocols and industry standards and can be considered to encompass all aspects of current 'best of industry' practice. The part is made completely out of pre-preg carbon fibre materials using an autoclave. As with all our carbon parts. we use a clear plastic coating that not only improves the appearance. but also protects the carbon fibre from scratching and has a unique UV resistance.

When riding over rough terrain, there is a significant risk of scraping or getting caught on the headers, resulting in dents, scratches, or in the worst case, holes. We have the solution: The heat shield from Touratech offers optimal protection for the headers. A sensible and affordable accessory that often pays for itself after the first use. This heat shield is made from laser-cut stainless steel. The design fits perfectly into the overall look of the new R1200GS. Very simple, quick, and secure attachment.
